Methane energy from biological sources

Methane energy from biological sources

Methane produced from biological waste is becoming an alternative to natural gas. Biomethane is produced by processing organic raw materials, including agricultural and domestic waste.

The process involves anaerobic fermentation, which produces a gas mixture with a high methane content. After purification, biomethane can be used for heating, electricity generation or as a transportation fuel.

The peculiarity of the technology is its closed cycle: waste processing reduces the volume of garbage, while producing a useful energy resource. In addition, biomethane emits significantly less carbon dioxide than fossil gas when burned.

Expanding the use of biomethane can be an important step towards sustainable energy, addressing both environmental and energy issues.
